Retreat 2009 : November 13 - 15, 2009

Calling all ladies…
Are you looking for a weekend away from your busy schedule to focus on your relationship with God? Are you looking for an opportunity to make new friends and to fellowship with other sisters in our body? Are you hungry for “home style” meals that you don’t have to prepare? Does soaking and relaxing in a pool of hot springs bring a smile to your face?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you should join us this November at the Calvary Chapel Conference Center in Murrieta Hot Springs for Grace Women’s Retreat 2009.
This year, we have the privilege of having Lois “B” Mayhue share from God Word regarding “Living for God’s Glory”. “B” is the wife of Dick Mayhue. The Mayhues’ roots were at Grace Brethren Long Beach. Dick is currently serving as an elder at Grace Community Church and the dean and executive senior vice president for seminary. He is also the provost at The Master’s College. “B”’s primary occupation is: being a helpmeet to Dick, co-leading the Seminary Wives Fellowship and teaching/disciplining women. She is also the mother of two grown children, and a grandmother to two precious little ones. You will be blessed by her heart for the Lord and her transparent and practical way she lives out her life for Him.

MOM's Club - September 17, 2009!!!

Dear Moms with Young Children,

• Does mothering really matter? Am I making a difference? Am I doing anything right?
• Is there more to life than changing diapers, feeding the children, and taxiing them from one place to another?
• Who am I and what am I worth to other people aside from my kids?
• I am drowning in motherhood. Does anyone care about my struggles or understand my need to connect with other adults mentally and emotionally?

Have you asked yourself one or all of these questions recently? If you have, you and your friends may be blessed by our mothers’ club, MOM (Mothers On a Mission)!

The second Thursday of each month (except for September, we will meet on September 17, the 3rd Thursday), Cindy Holbrook will be leading a discussion styled study for mothers with little ones focusing on what the Bible says about being a wife and a mother. We will be meeting on our church campus, from 9:30 to 11:00 am, starting in September. The cost for the club will be $15 per year (September to June) to cover costs of study materials. The cost to register for the children’s program will be $15 for the first child per 3-month quarter; for all subsequent children, the cost is $10 per child per quarter.

Whether you are a returning mom or coming to join us for the first time, we believe your life will be enriched and your spirit refreshed by having regular contacts with other mothers in the similar stage of life. We would urge you to bring any of your friends that would enjoy sharing this time with us as we encourage each other along the path of motherhood!

Watercolor with Pete

To all you creative types...

WATERCOLOR WITH PETE is this Saturday (7/18/09)!!!

Pete Roberts will guide us through some of basics in the watercolor medium and release us to paint our masterpieces :)

We will meet at the Plaza at 9:30am to receive some initial instructions, then move into the Fellowship Hall to paint!
